to indulge in that fascinating pastime of speculating upon what the future will reveal in regard to some of the medical problems. It is perhaps an unusually appropriate time for the profession to try to form a clear picture of the present trend in medicine because today in many branches of this broad field there are certain of our problems under discussion by the general public as well as by members of the profession. The solution of these problems is a matter of considerable importance to the medical profession and if they are to be solved in the manner that the profession desires the profession must take an active part in these discussions. To help guide the physicians in this task
